It's #beachthursday & I am on the road with #thebigtrip, coming to you from Dubrovnik, Croatia. When most people travel to this part of the world, chances are they are on a boat. That makes it easy to jump into the beautiful water, but others have found places to get wet as well, like this cliff top beach.
This week's #beachthursday comes from the Victorian town of Dromana. Located on Port Phillip Bay, 90 minutes south from Melbourne, Dromana sits at the foot of Arthur's Seat, which offers panoramic views of Mornington Peninsula. Dromana is a perfect place to rest after a big day at the beach.
It's #beachthursday time again & this week my photo comes from the Otago Peninsula in New Zealand. Allan's Beach is a well hidden beach on the eastern coast facing out onto the vast Pacific Ocean & with the icy winds blowing, a wet-suit is a must. This is a beautiful beach that feels like your own.
It's #beachthursday! My favourite day of the week. This week's photo is from the southernmost beach in continental U.S.A. Key West, Florida is a beautiful corner of the world, hiding at the end of the Overseas Highway & being only 90 miles from Cuba, the influence is strong & you feel at home immediately.
It's #beachthursday & today's beach is from the place I like to call home, Melbourne. To be fair, Melbourne isn't known for its beaches. It is known for a lot of other really great qualities, but it does have some nice beaches where you can relax & enjoy a day in the sun on the city's doorstep.
It's #beachthursday time again! This week I return to the beautiful hidden pebble beach in Nerja, Andalucía, Spain. The tiny pebbles wrap around your toes as you walk to the shore or the cafe serving ice cold drinks in the hot Mediterranean sun. I love this beach, the only thing missing is sand.
A place I hold close to my heart is the sacred fire at Boom Festival. Nestled on a peninsula on lake Idanha-a-Nova, this rocky outcrop is transformed by fellow boomers into a beautiful little beach to witness some of the most breathtaking sunsets I have ever witnessed. A beach made of peace & love.
It’s #beachthursday time again! This week I bring you Playa Del Salón in Nerja, Andalucía, Spain. With many of the hotels in Nerja facing onto this long sandy beach, you can be assured that on a summer’s day this beach will be packed. But once all the English tourists are lobster red, I’m sure you’ll find a spot.
Five hours inland from the Australian east coast is the town of Wagga Wagga, where I grew up. And on the Murrumbidgee River is a beach. Yep, a real beach. It’s nothing spectacular, but when the summer temperature soars well over 40˚C, having a place like this makes the summer infinitely more fun.
Melbourne is the place that I will return to one day, it’s home. The time that I have already lived in Melbourne, has given me so many great memories & is why I can’t wait to return. One of those moments was when I took my “boys” one evening to St. Kilda beach & did some random funny stuff that I love to do.
