It's #beachthursday time again! This week I return to the beautiful hidden pebble beach in Nerja, Andalucía, Spain. The tiny pebbles wrap around your toes as you walk to the shore or the cafe serving ice cold drinks in the hot Mediterranean sun. I love this beach, the only thing missing is sand.
It’s #beachthursday time again! This week I bring you Playa Del Salón in Nerja, Andalucía, Spain. With many of the hotels in Nerja facing onto this long sandy beach, you can be assured that on a summer’s day this beach will be packed. But once all the English tourists are lobster red, I’m sure you’ll find a spot.
This week’s #FriFotos themes is Rooftops. The idea was that we would walk up to the Alhambra to see it at dusk & grab some dinner in the old town nearby. Then, while taking a break on the steep hill climb, I turned around & this was the sight before my eyes. An incredible sunset over Granada.
It’s a beautiful hot summers day. Exploring Sevilla by bike is taking my breathe away. That means lots of photos. While snapping away at the Plaza de España, a film location for Star Wars, I am swarmed by an army of hyperactive Spanish school kids who only know three words of English… Okay & Michael Jackson.
You know that moment when you are at the check in desk, when you place your bag on the scales & hold your breath. You see the numbers rolling over rapidly, the staff serving you watch the sweat starting to appear on your forehead & decide now is the time to give you an evil smile, then that moment arrives.
Sevilla is a beautiful city. The capital of Andalucía region in Southern Spain has many popular landmarks & parks to visit, but on the day we used the city’s public bike scheme, discovering the colourful alleyways put a big smile on my face. You don’t have to see anything when in Sevilla, it’s beautiful on its own.
The Alhambra is a truly incredible place. This UNESCO world heritage listed site dates back as far as the 9th century and with its rich Berber Islamic architecture, is a must-see place when visiting Granada, Andalucía.
This is the video that convinced me to travel by train through Morocco. Having visited the the country in 2010, I have been itching to get back to this amazing place. What better way to see that by train?
My contribution to #BeachThursday this week comes from Andalucía, Spain. Nerja is a small coastal town to the east of Málaga, the mecca of English tourists on a budget.
Taking your time exploring a city can be a great pleasure. When a lot of people arrive at a destination, they can often leave before experiencing the place they came to see.
