Sitting dominantly on the banks of the Danube River in Budapest is the Országház, the Hungarian Parliament. Immediately it reminds me of Houses of Parliament of the River Thames in London with similar gothic influenced architecture. Even when being framed beautifully, it is still massive.
Erzsébet Híd (Elisabeth Bridge) is one of the many bridges that cross the Danube in Budapest, Hungary. Our hike up Gellért Hill made the view of Budapest from the Szabadság Szobor (Statue of Liberty) worth the exhausting walk, the rain on the way back down gave me these great reflections.
You arrive in a new country and your first task is to withdraw some cash. The cash machine is in a foreign language & you successfully walk away feeling ridiculously rich. The truth is that while I may have withdrawn tens of thousands of currency, it is probably only £20. Makes me smile every time.
We wake up with a hangover from a long night of heavy drinking, we have a tour of Budapest organised and our feet are already thanking us, because this tour is going to be done on Segway’s.
